She is a great employee - obviously good at time management, very patient and a very hard worker. There's also a list with the title 'Common Reasons for Leaving a Job' and these items: - Moving to a new city - Looking to grow in your field - Interested in more challenging work duties - Ready for a change in environment - Changing careers - Laid off or let go - Hoping to receive higher compensation - Wanting to work with new management. Pick your headline A headline is the main reason you will share as to why you left your last job. Recruiters want to know what kind of nurse you will be and are most interested in your clinical experiences. Focus on your clinical situations and skills and use your preceptors and clinical instructors as references. This is not what recruiters are looking for. You have been invalidated or the company closed. You are looking for new challenges in the workplace. You want to change the direction of the profession. Or perhaps you want to go back to school to. I don't think that any recruiter would think badly of you for staying at home for a while.īe honest and concise on your application and don't sweat it, but don't try to make it seem like you had a bunch of job duties or make up a phony job title - most people take care of children, clean a house, pay bills and manage a family whether they work or not. Take reasonable, easy-to-understand, and reasons for quitting your job: You are looking for good career prospects, professional growth, and job opportunities. Leaving a job to pursue other goals other than within your current career path is always a worthy reason to leave. Your situation is different now and you are choosing to work instead. I would just say, "resigned to stay at home with children." There is no stigma attached to staying at home with kids. When I was a nursing recruiter, I always thought that people who tried to assign some sort of official title to being a stay-at-home mom were kind of cheesy.
